i really like the black and white/vs color concept in selecting a person as well as the simplistic, opaque background since it helps the person to stand out more. The only thing I'm wondering is how youre main page is going to look with all the people there to be selected from? Other than that, great job!! I like this first layout better than the second too.

matt. I think your first design is the stronger of the two. You ay also wish to have some introduction that explains the "gamer" concept.

I think you could also incorporate the idea of rooms into the backgrounds. (ie your classroom).

Another thing to think about is where would this interface go...is the whole purpose of the site to explain the people...would there be a level that goes deeper and places them in the contect of the game.

This may be in the explanation...the jungle that is daap and how do we best prepare to survive it...etc.

additonal comments...

i really like the location element...watch the typeace in the first design...it is too heavy and quirky for that design.

also you might dirty things up a bt and add some depth to the windows on top of the background.

Hey Matt,
I like the layout you have going its simple and effective. I love the congrast you have going between the black and white and color images. The only real criticism that I have is that I think you need to push the conrast on your layout, In my opinion it looks a bit sterile, thats an easy fix thougth. Otherwise nice Job.

I like the first design better than the second, if I'm allowed to repeat everything everyone else said. I like the idea of the main window being the information about the person and the contrast between who is chosen and who is not. The type seems a bit much, both in color and font style. Maybe since transparency was used on the rest of it the name could use that technique as well. Great job, love them...you're the best!

who likes rounded cornerss on rectangles? i like rounded corners on rectangles! i also enjoy the frosted overlay over the background picture. it's a nice viewing of both the information and something aesthetic.

anyway, i'm not too fond of the typeface for the menu too much. i know you guys may be going for this superhero thing but there may be one out there that's more appropriate and nice to look at. also, it should probably match the name down the side of the page, or at least be in the same family.

when you get to the location area, i agree with trevor that it looks a little bland. what was once frosted and pretty now looks sterilized. maybe all the desks colored and the one you're focusing on is a bright white.

anyway, looking simple and nice.

Matt, I'm not sure if I supposed to give you feedback but I'm going to anyway. I like your idea and design layout. Instead of a real picture of Kristen maybe you could have a black and white image with the white parts being clear. I don't know if that makes sense but I feel like the smaller faces look good, and that you should make them the basis for how you view someone. In terms of you other layouts I'd like to see a little open space. That's all I've got to say.

whats up matt. Ya know, I like a number of elements from each layout. Maybe you could combine them to make a superlayout! Like the large vertical type in the first layout as opposed to the way you have handled names in the second. The black and white headshots vs. color to identify what is being selected. Could maybe take the contrast down on the black and white a little. And I really think that you should pull the color element from your second layout, as well as the rounded corners. I just like the way rounded corners look, don't you?

Hi Matt!

I enjoy your first design quite a bit; it feels like a game interface (what we were going for) and holds a clear, concise hierarchy that wouldn't be too difficult for one to navigate. I feel that the design ideas we've discussed would fit very well into the interface.

My only little complaint would be that it's sort of tame for a game interface. If we could add a little to make it slightly more intriguing, I feel that it'd be about perfect.
Bueno, good job!
