This was what my first picture was supposed to look like. But I kind of like the way it looks on white. Please ignore the second picture because I didn't want to post it.
This one is much better than the one you posted earlier. With the addition of the class title and the names of the students as you rollover the icons I can see that there is more to this than just a choice of icons, and that each icon identifies an individual. Work with this idea further I like where it is headed.
